Drugs and Cash Seized by BPS BEAT Unit

On Wednesday October 7, 2020 members of the Brantford Police Service Downtown Better Enforcement Action Team (B.E.A.T.) were conducting patrols in the area of the Market Centre Parkade on Icomm Drive in response to reports of drug activity.

Upon attending the location, BPS B.E.A.T. members observed a suspect conduct a drug transaction. The suspect attempted to evade police by fleeing the scene in a vehicle and then continued on foot when police members located him.  After a short foot chase, the suspect was arrested.  The driver of the motor vehicle used to flee the scene, was arrested shortly afterwards.  

As a result of the patrol, B.E.A.T Officers seized the following:
  • 20 grams (approx.) of suspected Crack Cocaine
  • 30 grams (approx.) of suspected Crystal Methamphetamine
  • 9.7 grams (approx.) of suspected Fentanyl
  • A quantity of Canadian currency
In total, approximately $13,000.00 worth of illegal substances and a quantity of Canadian currency was seized.

As a result of the investigation a 32 year old male from Brantford and a 30 year old female from Ohsweken were charged with Possession for the Purposes of Trafficking and Trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
