Multiple Arrests by BPS Street Crime Unit
On Saturday, May 8, 2021, members of the Brantford Police
Service Street Crime Unit and uniform patrol entered into a firearms
investigation. As a result of the investigation a Criminal Code search warrant
had been obtained and executed at a residence on Murray Street in the City of
Brantford.
During the search of the residence officers seized a
quantity of suspected fentanyl (approx. 4.7 grams with an estimated street
value of $1175), suspected methamphetamine (approx. 3.9 grams with an estimated
street value of $585), a prohibited firearm with ammunition, and other offence
related property.
As a result of this investigation, a 33-year-old female
from Brantford, a 29-year-old female from Brantford, a 25-year-old male from
Brantford, and a 37-year-old male from Brantford have been charged with the
following:
- Possession of a controlled substance x2
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm
- Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm
- Careless storage of a firearm
- Careless storage of ammunition
- Tampering with serial number of firearm
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Breaches of court orders
