Following an anthropologic examination conducted with the assistance of the Coroner’s Office, it has been determined that the suspected human remains which were discovered August 5, 2020 in the area of Glenwood Drive are not modern and do not have any forensic value.
The investigation into the source of the remains has been transferred to the Registrar of Burial Sites, War Graves, Abandoned Cemeteries and Cemetery Closure.

Members of the Brantford Police Service Major Crime Section and the Office of the Chief Coroner are investigating the discovery of suspected human remains located in the area of Glenwood Drive on August 5, 2020.
Please be advised there will be a police presence in the area as officers conduct the investigation. Members of the general public are asked to avoid the area.
A postmortem coroner’s examination is to be scheduled. Until this examination has been completed, Brantford Police Service is unable to provide further information regarding the identification of the remains. As the investigation is in the very early stages, additional information will be released as it becomes available.
