Type:  Shoplifting           
Incident: 18-19578
Location: Market Street South
Incident: On Thursday May 24, 2018 just before 4:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call from a business on Market Street South.  An unknown male had entered into the store where he had proceeded to take an item and concealed it within a shopping bag.  The suspect then left the store without making any attempts to pay for the item.  The suspect was confronted by a Loss Prevention Officer about the theft.  The suspect became upset with store employees and started to cause a scene.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the store where the accused was arrested without incident.  A 42 year old Brantford male is charged with Theft Under $5000.00.

Location: Albion Street    
Incident:  On Friday May 25, 2018 just after 3:30 a.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call from a residence on Albion Street.  The residents reported that an unknown male had just broken into their house while they were sleeping.  The male was seen inside and they chased him out of their residence.  The suspect had gathered items from the residence but dropped them as he fled the area.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area and searched for the suspect male.  The suspect male is described as a white male, 5?9?, thin build, wearing white ball cap, dark shirt and dark hair.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Brantford police Service at 519-756-7050 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477.

Incident: On Thursday May 24, 2018 Brantford Police Service received a report of a Break and Enter to a residence on South Street.  Sometime during the day unknown person(s) forced open the front door to the residence.  The residence was ransacked.  Reported taken was jewelry and other items.

Location: Dalhousie Street
Incident: On Wednesday May 23, 2018 just after 1:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a call from a business on Dalhousie Street.  A male had attended the business attempting to get a loan.  During the process the male had produced documents that appeared to be fraudulent.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the business where they located the male.  Investigation revealed that the identification and documents that the male had produced were fraudulent and he was arrested without incident.  Information was also received that the accused was currently bound by a court order with conditions.  Roger Hilton Barnes a 33 year old Brantford male is charged with Possession of Identity Documents, False Pretences and Breach of Probation.  The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Location: Plant Farm Road    
Incident:  On Wednesday May 23, 2018 just before 1:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a theft report from a business on Plant Farm Road.  The business reported that an unknown male was captured on surveillance video stealing copper from the outside of the business.  Community Patrol Officers investigated the incident and were able to identify the suspect.  On Thursday May 24, 2018 just after 3:30 a.m. Officers observed the suspect in the area of Dalhousie Street and Charlotte Street.  The accused was arrested at that time without incident.  During the investigation it was confirmed that the accused was currently bound by a court order with conditions.  A 33 year old Brantford male is charged with Theft Under $5000.00 and Breach of Probation.

Location: Viscount Road 
Incident: On Wednesday May 23, 2018 just before 3:00 a.m. Brantford Police Service received a call from a residence on Viscount Road.  The resident reported that two females had just forced their way into his residence, confronted him and stole his cell phone.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the residence where they located the 63 year old resident who was not injured.  The two female suspects had fled the residence on foot prior to police arrival.  Officers searched the area where they located the two suspects hiding nearby.  The accused were arrested without incident.  A 47 year old Brantford woman and a 48 year old Brantford woman are charged with Theft Under $5000.00 and Unlawfully in a Dwelling House.

Location: Carmichael Cres.
Incident:  On Wednesday May 23, 2018 Brantford Police Service received a report of a Break and Enter to a residence on Carmichael Drive.  Sometime during the day unknown person(s) entered the residence through the garage.  Reported stolen was jewelry.

Location: Roy Blvd
Incident: On Tuesday May 22, 2018 Brantford Police Service received a report of a Break and Enter to a business on Roy Blvd.  Sometime over the weekend unknown person(s) entered a secure compound and forced open a storage shed at the rear of the business.  Reported stolen was metal and copper.

Location: Shellard Lane    
Incident:  On Tuesday May 22, 2018 just after 1:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a call about an irate female who was yelling and screaming outside a residence on Shellard Lane.  The female was also seen pouring gasoline all over a vehicle parked in the driveway and onto the house.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the residence where they located the female.  Investigation revealed that she was having a dispute with a male who lived in the residence.  The female had attended to the residence where she caused damage to a side door as well as having poured gasoline on the residence and on a vehicle in the driveway.  The female was arrested without incident.  Information was received that the female was currently bound by a court order with conditions.  A 26 year old Brantford female is charged with Mischief to Property Under $5000.00 and Breach of Probation.

Location: Market Street 
Incident: On Tuesday May 22, 2018 just before 8:00 p.m. Community Patrol Officers were patrolling on foot in the area of Market Street South when they were alerted by an employee from a business that a male and female had just stolen a number of items from the store.  The suspects fled the area in separate directions on bikes after dropping the items that had been taken.  Officers were able to catch up to the male suspect who was arrested without incident. Information received was the accused was currently bound by a court order with conditions.  A 32 year old Brantford male is charged with Theft Under $5000.00 and Breach of Probation.

Location: Clarence Street
Incident: On Wednesday May 23, 2018 just after 1:30 a.m. Community Patrol Officers observed a vehicle traveling on Clarence Street with an expired validation permit.  Officers performed a traffic stop and spoke to the male driver.  The driver was unable to produce a driver?s licence or valid insurance slip for the vehicle.  Investigation revealed that the drivers licence was currently under suspension and he was bound by a court order with conditions.  Information also confirmed that the vehicles registration had expired.  A 41 year old Brantford male is charged with Fail to Comply with Recognizance Order under the Criminal Code, Drive While Under Suspension and Drive Motor Vehicle - no currently validated permit under the Highway Traffic Act. He is also charged with Fail to Surrender Insurance Card under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.

Location: West Street
Incident: On Wednesday May 23, 2018 just after 1:45 a.m. Community Patrol Officers observed a vehicle traveling on West Street with an expired validation permit.  Officers performed a traffic stop and spoke to the male driver.  Investigation revealed that the drivers licence was currently under more than one driving suspension, that there was no insurance on the vehicle and that the validation permit was expired.  A 38 year old Brantford male is charged with Drive While Under Suspension x2 and Drive Motor Vehicle - no currently validated permit under the Highway Traffic Act. He is also charged with Drive Motor Vehicle ? No Insurance under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.  The vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Brantford Residents Confronted in their Home with a Gun

The Brantford Police Service Major Crime Unit is currently investigating a home invasion where the residents were confronted by four unknown suspects, one who was armed with a gun. 

On May 22, 2018 at approximately 4:00 a.m. four unknown males forced entry into a home on Terrace Hill Street and confronted the 55 and 53 year old male occupants.  They demanded drugs and one of the suspects was armed with a gun.  The suspects fled the residence on foot.  The victims were not injured and did not require medical treatment.   

The suspects are described as:

Suspect #1 ? male, 5?6?, black hoodie, light blue scarf, jeans and light brown work boots 

Suspect #2 -  male, tall, black hoodie, black scarf, light coloured blue jeans  

Suspect #3 ? male, construction jacket, blue hoodie, dark coloured jeans  

Suspect #4 ? male, dark coloured jacket, dark hoodie, glasses, dark scarf

Location: Sydenham Street
Incident: On Sunday May 20, 2018 just before 2:00 a.m. Community Patrol Officers observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Sydenham Street with no lights on.  Officers observed the vehicle fail to stop for a stop sign before they were able to stop the vehicle.  Officers spoke to the male driver who showed signs of impairment and was arrested without incident.  The driver was transported to the Brantford Police Service where he was to provide samples of his breath as required by law.  The accused samples were two times the legal limit.  The driver a 19 year old Brantford male is charged with Impaired Operation of Motor Vehicle and Impaired Operation ? Over 80 under the Criminal Code.  He is further charged with Novice Driver ? Blood Alcohol Content over Zero and Driver Motor Vehicle in Contravention of Conditions under the Highway Traffic Act.  The drivers licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Location: Market Street    
Incident:  On Sunday May 20th 2018 just after 12:30 a.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call about an assault at a residence on Market Street.  The 18 victim had returned to her residence where she found the rear window to her residence had been smashed.  Shortly after returning home the victim was confronted by the accused who had re-attended her residence.  The victim had gone outside to speak to the accused when the accused began to assault her.   The victim was struck a number of times in the head and face causing non-life threatening injuries.  The victim was eventually able to get back inside her residence and call for help while the accused fled the area.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area where they located the victim.  The victim was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Investigation revealed that the accused and victim were known to each other and that the accused is bound by court order with conditions.  A 19 year old Brantford woman is charged with Assault Cause Bodily Harm, Mischief to Property Under $5000 and Breach of Probation.  The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Location: Market Street 
Incident: On Sunday May 20, 2018 just after 11:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a call from a business on Market Street.  A male had entered into the business and started to cause a disruption for customers and staff.  The staff were dealing with the male and his behavior which was causing customers to leave.  The male had previously been trespassed from the store and was asked to leave by staff but refused.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the business were they located the male.  The male continued to cause a scene and was arrested without incident.  Investigation revealed that the accused was currently bound by a court order with conditions. A 43 year old Brantford male is charged with Causing a Disturbance, Common Nuisance and Breach of Probation.  The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Location: Chatham Street
Incident: On Monday May 21, 2018 just after 4:00 a.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call about a truck that had just been broken into on Chatham Street.  Two unknown people were seen inside the vehicle and then going into the rear yard of a residence.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area where they located the vehicle.  Investigation revealed that the truck had been reported stolen from Hamilton.  Officers searched the area and located one of the suspects at the rear of a residence on Chatham Street.  Information received was the accused was currently bound by a court order with conditions as well she was wanted on outstanding arrest warrants from other jurisdictions.  A 31 year old female from Ohsweken is charged with Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000.00, Trespass At Night and Breach of Probation.  The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Location: Erie Ave
Incident: On Thursday May 17, 2018 just after 8:30 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call about a motor vehicle collision on Erie Ave.  A male driving an RV (recreational vehicle) had hit a parked vehicle.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area where they located the motor vehicle collision and spoke to the driver.  Officers upon speaking to the driver observed signs of impairment.  The driver was issued a demand to provide a sample into an approved roadside screening device.  The driver provided a sample which registered a fail.  The driver was arrested and transported to the Brantford Police Service where he was to provide samples of his breath as required by law.  The accused samples were over the legal limit.  A 63 year old Brantford male is charged with Operate Motor Vehicle ? Over 80 under the Criminal Code. The drivers licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Location: Brant Ave and Henrietta Street   
Incident:  On Thursday May 17, 2018 just after 6:00 p.m. Community Patrol Officers were patrolling in the area of Brant Ave and Henrietta Street when they observed a female walking down the street.  Officers recognized the female who was wanted on outstanding arrest warrants.  The accused observed police and began to flee on foot running through business parking lots, over fences and through residential back yards.  Officers were able to locate and arrested the accused as she exited a residence on William Street where she had fled through an open door.  The accused a 25 year old Brantford woman was arrested on the outstanding warrants.

Location: Lynden Road 
Incident: On Thursday May 17, 2018 Brantford Police Service received a report of a stolen motor vehicle from a parking lot on Lynden Road.  The vehicle had been parked in the parking lot and when the owner returned the vehicle had been stolen.  Reported stolen was a Silver Chevrolet Silverado Pickup.

Location: Sherwood Drive
Incident: On Friday May 18, 2018 Brantford Police Service received a report of a Break and Enter to a business on Sherwood Drive.  Sometime overnight unknown persons entered a secured compound where they stole jerry cans and then cut off the lock to fuel tank.  An amount of gasoline was reported stolen.

Incident:  On Wednesday May 16, 2017 just before 5:00 p.m. Community Patrol Officers observed a vehicle driving in an aggressive manner on Park Ave.  Officers performed a traffic stop and spoke to the male driver.  Investigation revealed the driver was currently prohibited from driving.  A 22 year old Brantford male is charged with Drive While Disqualified under the Criminal Code.

Incident: On Wednesday May 16, 2018 Brantford Police Service received a report of a Break and Enter to a residence on Garden Ave.  Sometime during the day unknown person(s) forced open a rear door to the residence.  The residence was rummaged through.  Reported taken was a computer and money.

Incident: On Wednesday May 16, 2018 Brantford Police Service received a report of a stolen vehicle from Grand Street.  The vehicle had been parked on the road and was taken sometime overnight.  Reported stolen was a Blue Pontiac Montana van.

Incident:  On Tuesday May 15, 2018 Brantford Police Service received a call about a Break and Enter to a residence on Dublin Street.  Sometime overnight unknown person(s) forced open the front door to the residence.  Reported taken was jewelry.

Location: Fulton Street 
Incident: On Tuesday May 15, 2018 just after 7:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call about a disturbance at a residence on Fulton Street.  The victim a 20 year old female was able to leave the residence and reported that she had had a verbal argument with her boyfriend who threatened to burn her house down and steal her car.  The accused was seen driving away from the residence in the victim?s vehicle.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area where they safely located the victim.  Officers were able to locate the vehicle and the accused who was arrested without incident.  Information received was that the accused was currently bound by a court order with conditions.  A 24 year old Brantford male is charged with Utter Threats to Damage Property, Take Motor Vehicle without Consent and Fail to Comply with Recognizance Order.  The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Location: Mintern Ave 
Incident: On Tuesday May 15, 2018 just before 7:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a call about a male who had been stabbed in the back and was walking on Mohawk Street.  Community Patrol Officers attended and spoke to the male who advised that he had just had a verbal argument with his friend and when he left she had stabbed him in the back.  The male was transported to hospital with a non-life threatening injury to his back.  Officers attended to the residence where they located the female who confirmed the argument but also stated that she had received a stab wound to her leg from the male.  She was transported to hospital with a non-life threatening injury to her leg.  As a result of the investigation a 38 year old Brantford male is charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm, Assault with a Weapon and Breach of Probation.  A 35 year old Brantford woman is charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm and Assault with a Weapon.  Both accused were held for a bail hearing.

Location:  Brighton Ave   
Incident:   On Monday May 14, 2018 just before 8:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a call from a concerned citizen about a suspicious person in the area of Brighton Ave and Superior Street.  An unknown female was observed wandering around the area.  Community Patrol Officers attended that area where they located the female who was staggering down the street.  Upon speaking to the female she began to yell and scream at the officers who observed signs of intoxication.  Officers attempted to arrest the female who began to fight and threatened the officers at the scene.  She was taken into custody and transported to the Brantford Police Service where she continued to fight with the officers involved.  Investigation revealed that the accused was currently bound by a court order.  A 34 year old Brantford woman is charged with Causing A Disturbance, Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest and Fail to Comply with an Undertaking.  The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Location: Greenwich Street 
Incident: On Monday May 14, 2018 just after 8:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a call about a possible domestic disturbance on Greenwich Street.  A male and female had been seen walking on Greenwich Street having a verbal argument.  During the argument the female was seen hitting the male as they continued down the street.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area where they located the male and female.  Investigation confirmed that the two had gotten into a verbal argument and that the male was trying to walk away when he was continuously confronted by the female.  Information was received that the female was currently bound by a court order with conditions.  A 24 year old Paris woman is charged with Assault and Breach of Probation.  The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Location: Colborne Street West
Incident: On Tuesday May 15, 2018 Brantford Police Service received a report of a Break and Enter to a business on Colborne Street West.  Sometime overnight unknown person(s) tampered with the lock to the entrance to the business but did not gain entry.  They were able to break into a storage container at the rear of the business.  Reported stolen was various types of motor oil.

Location:  Dalhousie Street   
Incident:  On Friday May 11, 2018 just before 4:00 p.m. Community Patrol Officers observed a vehicle driving on Dalhousie Street with an expired validation permit.  Officers performed a traffic stop and spoke to the male driver.  Information was received that the drivers licence was currently suspended.  Investigation revealed a number of controlled substances located in the vehicle including fentanyl, cocaine, crack cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, hydromorphone capsules and Xanax pills.  The driver and three passengers were arrested without incident. The driver and two passengers were also found to be in possession of weapons including knives and a club.  A total of $6286.00 worth of controlled substances was located in the vehicle and on the accused.  The controlled substances included 34.92 grams of crack cocaine ($3492.00), 13.45 grams of crystal methamphetamine ($2017.00), 6.12 grams of cocaine ($612.00), 0.23 grams fentanyl ($80.00), Xanax pills x7 ($35.00) and Hydromorphone capsules x2 ($50.00).  The driver Michael Daylin JOSEPH 19 years old from Brantford is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x4 under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, fentanyl & Xanax) and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose under the Criminal Code.  Passenger Brandon KIRILOW a 20 year old Brantford male is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x4 under the Controlled Drugs and Substances act. Passenger Tyrell Antonio SIMONS a 20 year old Brantford male is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x4 under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose under the Criminal Code.  Passenger Jesse Paul MCDONALD a 19 year old Brantford male is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x4 under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose under the Criminal Code.  All four accused were held for a bail hearing.

Location: Westgate Circle 
Incident: On Friday May 11, 2018 just after 5:00 p.m. the Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call about an altercation outside a residence on Westgate Circle.  The victim a 45 year old male had stopped at the side of the road when he was confronted by an unknown male holding a baseball bat.  The accused began to yell at the victim and hit the roof and rear window of his vehicle with the bat causing it to smash.  The victim fearing for his safety drove away from the area and called police.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area where they located and arrested the accused without incident.  Investigation revealed the accused was currently bound by court orders with conditions.  A 37 year old Brantford male is charged with Assault with a Weapon, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Mischief to Property Under $5000.00, Breach of Probation and Breach of Recognizance.  The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Location: North Park Street
Incident: On Saturday May 12, 2018 just before 2:00 a.m. Brantford Police Service received a call from a concerned citizen about a possible impaired driver in the area of North Park Street.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area where they located the vehicle.  The vehicle was observed driving in and out of marked lanes and taking wide corners.  Officers performed a traffic stop and spoke to the female driver.  Officers in speaking to the driver observed signs of impairment and the driver was arrested without incident.  The driver was transport to the Brantford Police Service where she was to provide samples of her breath as required by law.  The driver?s samples were over the legal limit.  A 39 year old Brantford woman is charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Drive Motor Vehicle - Over 80 under the Criminal Code.  The drivers licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
